The Main Ingredient...Sneek Peek!

Today I thought it would be fun to post a little snippet of a scene from my work-in-progress. This is my first full length novel, and it's a standalone. “Well yeah, these are definitely all wrong.” Lindsay stood in his kitchen, hands on her hips as she surveyed the cabinets. Josh laughed. “So it’s not just me then. I was starting to think I was losing my mind.” Lindsay swatted his shoulder. It was a playful move but his libido hadn’t quite settled down since the last time he’d seen her and a second’s worth of touch managed to make it roar back to life. “No, I get it. I can see why you picked them, but they really don’t fit with what you were looking to do in here.” “I’m at a loss. I spent so much time picking these out, and I was already behind schedule with this project.” “I’m thinking you want something lighter. The space is too small for cabinets this dark. Maybe a blonde wood?” Her eyes lit up with excitement as she pulled out her phone and typed madly. “I sa

Camp NaNoWriMo 2017

I have been neglecting my Camp NaNoWriMo duties. As in, I haven't been writing nearly as much as I should be. I set a goal of 25k words for the month of April...not sure I'll necessarily make that goal. But I'm going to give it a try. April is a crazy busy month for me, but so is November and I do the original NaNoWriMo every year. So, today's goal: I'm going to convince an exhausted 6 year old that a nap is a fantastic idea, and then I'm going to sit down with my Neo2 and get some words under my belt. I have the third book in the Madelia trilogy due to come out in less than a month, so that's what I'm working on today. Wish me luck! -Jessa

When the boyfriend brings flowers to work and you have to make yourself a vase! It actually worked a lot better than I expected. I'd now like all my flower vases to have a handle.

Brand new blog time! I'm looking forward to using this space for posting snippets of stories-in-progress, as well as just fun stuff that entertains me at the moment. Let me start by telling you a little bit about me. I live and work in the Inland Northwest of Washington State (go Zags!) and I have been writing since I was a little thing. For a living, I work in family medicine in a very busy clinic, but on my lunch breaks you'll find me on the couch with my Neo2 in my lap, typing away. I average about 1500 words per lunch break, which isn't too bad! I participate in Camp NaNoWriMo and NaNoWriMo most years. In fact, my first published piece, My Heart My Home , was created during NaNo 2016. At home with me I have my 6 year old daughter and our two rambunctious dogs. In the near future we'll be adding two more dogs to that mix when my boyfriend and his son move in. That should be entertaining! That's about it for now. I look forward to posting again soon. Tha
